Stewarding Supervisor Job

The role of Stewarding Supervisor is to manage the stewarding department efficiently and effectively. This includes maintaining an organized and clean back-of-house area, providing clean operating equipment to all kitchens, outlets, and banquets, and communicating with all staff members about waste management initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement weekly rosters and work schedules for the stewarding department.
  • Attend Food & Beverage Operations and Department Head meetings to stay informed about business levels and hotel operations.
  • Develop and maintain an effective recycling program in collaboration with the Materials Department.
  • Track waste removal data and enter it into Capella Hotels and Resorts' international databases.
  • Participate in monthly Green Team meetings and drive communication, awareness, and engagement about recycling activities at the hotel.
  • Work closely with the Director of Engineering to identify areas for water and energy management and conservation.
  • Liaise with chemical companies and cleaning companies on matters related to their services.
  • Handle internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Monitor stewarding operations, especially during peak periods, and make adjustments where necessary.
  • Control stock and par levels in areas responsible to the Stewarding department.
  • Conduct periodic walkthroughs in areas responsible to the Stewarding department.
  • Collect, separate, and recycle regularly waste from throughout the hotel.

Requirements:

  • General Education Certificate/Diploma.
  • Experience in similar roles at luxury hotels/resorts.
  • Working knowledge of chemical and cleaning machinery is advantageous.
  • HACCP knowledge/Food Safety Program knowledge is advantageous.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
