Job Title: Casual Legal Editor

We are seeking a Casual Legal Editor to assist with the delivery of case law content by classifying cases in accordance with the Australian Digest classification key, adding case relationships and litigation history to the cases database, writing digest notes for significant cases, verifying and updating cases references, conducting online Quality Assurance, and assisting the Case Law Manager and Senior Legal Editors on specific cases projects.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A degree in Law and strong legal research skills and familiarity with Australian legal resources.
  • The ability to interpret, analyse, organise, and communicate complex legal material effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of its importance from a customer perspective.
  • The ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure while maintaining high productivity.
  • The ability to adapt quickly and respond positively to change.
  • A commitment to both team and personal goals.
  • Excellent comprehension and writing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality written content.
  • Good verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently.
  • Editorial experience and familiarity with XML are highly desirable.
