This role requires you to work closely with internal stakeholders to develop implement and evaluate media management corporate communication public affairs and marketing strategies on behalf of regions commands and divisions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing producing and distributing news releases multi-media content social media posts speaking points and materials for external communications
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the Media Operations team providing specialist guidance to team members and overseeing the delivery of high-quality media services
  • Preparing delivering and evaluating media awareness training sessions for QPS staff as required
  • Providing specialist advice to members of the QPS on media public affairs and marketing issues
  • Identifying proactive opportunities for the organisation
  • Representing the Media and Public Affairs Branch at meetings with clients stakeholders and sponsors

Requirements

Qualification

  • A degree in journalism or public affairs is desired but not essential

Skills

  • Experience in journalism public affairs or a related field will be favourably considered

Work Environment

  • Rotational shift work between 6am and 6pm rotational weekend work may be required

Travel Requirements

  • Inter/intra state travel may be required
