- Key Responsibilities
- Apply advanced clinical knowledge and experience to support multidisciplinary teams in positive behaviour support, reducing and eliminating restrictive practices.
- Provide leadership in clinical practice, mentoring and supervising staff as part of the Senior Practitioner team.
- Contribute to clinical documentation, data collection, and education on trauma-informed and evidence-based information.
- Coordinate applications from disability services providers to use restrictive practices under the Office of the Senior Practitioner.
- Monitor and evaluate the use of restrictive practices, providing timely advice and reporting.
- Provide information on the rights of persons with disabilities subject to restrictive practices.
- Participate in research related to restrictive practices under the Senior Practitioner's guidance.
- Collaborate with the National Disability Insurance Scheme Quality and Safeguards Commission to share information and ensure NDIS providers meet their obligations.
Essential Requirements
- Current and valid registration/licences essential to this role must remain current and valid at all times while employed.
- Satisfactory completion of a relevant allied health professional course of study at a recognised tertiary institution.
- Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration and NDIS Endorsement (or ability to acquire quickly).
