We are seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher to join our team at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. As a research scientist, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in genomics, epigenomics, and computational biology.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in genomics, epigenomics, and computational biology
- Develop and implement new methods and tools for data analysis and interpretation
- Collaborate with other researchers and clinicians to design and implement research projects
- Present research findings at conferences and publish in top-tier journals
We have several exciting projects available, including:
1. Pan-Cancer Analysis of Fetal-Like CellsThis project aims to investigate the presence of fetal-like cells in various types of cancer and their role in tumor development and progression.
2. Decoding Epigenetic Principles of Early Embryonic DevelopmentThis project seeks to understand the epigenetic mechanisms that control gene expression during early embryonic development.
3. Evaluating Phenotype Concept Recognition ToolsThis project aims to evaluate the performance of current phenotype concept recognition tools and develop new methods for identifying and annotating phenotypes.
4. Building Polygenic Risk Prediction PipelineThis project involves developing a pipeline to calculate polygenic risk scores from whole genome sequence data.
5. Developing Diagnostic Method for FSHDThis project aims to develop a streamlined diagnostic test for FSHD using long-read sequencing.
6. Understanding Heterogeneity of Breast CancerThis project seeks to investigate the heterogeneity of breast cancer using single-cell and spatial omics data.
7. Developing REDCap Integration for CTRLThis project involves developing a new REDCap integration for the CTRL platform.
8. Identifying Novel Genetic Markers for Autoimmune DiseasesThis project aims to identify novel genetic markers for autoimmune diseases using gene expression data from patients and healthy donors.
9. Multi-Omics Single-Cell Data IntegrationThis project involves integrating single-cell RNA-seq and chromatin accessibility datasets using deep learning methods.
10. Genomic Research Results Return in AustralasiaThis project involves investigating the landscape for returning research results in Australasia and developing a program to support researchers and cohort owners.
