Event Operations Technician
Casual role | Flexible hours including weekdays, evenings, and weekendsWe are seeking individuals to join our Building Services team on a casual basis. The role involves overseeing technical services and general facility operations during events. Key responsibilities include addressing plumbing concerns, managing temperature controls, troubleshooting lift issues, investigating gas leaks, and ensuring the safety of items pending repair.
As an Operations Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the functionality and safety of our venue; this requires technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and effective prioritization of tasks. You will work collaboratively with various teams to swiftly address maintenance requirements and contribute to a secure environment.
Our facility operates around the clock, with shifts often scheduled during early mornings, late nights, and weekends, particularly during peak event seasons. Shift assignments will be based on event needs across our venue.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support and troubleshooting for technical challenges faced by staff or visitors, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general facility operations. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, technical issues, and their resolutions. Respond swiftly to technical emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Conduct routine inspections to identify and resolve maintenance issues and potential hazards. Ensure adherence to safety regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies.Preferred Skills & Experience:
Strong communication skills for conveying technical information and effective problem-solving abilities. Organizational skills for managing tasks and inventory, with a keen eye for detail in documentation and procedures. Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, manage emergencies, and work varied hours. Team-oriented approach with experience in facilities maintenance. Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment, along with a solid understanding of occupational health and safety practices. Competence in utilizing technology for maintaining electronic records. First Aid certification is advantageous. About Us
