Financial Manager for Mine Operations

Job Overview

The role of a mine accountant is pivotal in the financial management of mining operations.

Responsibilities include preparing monthly management accounts and reporting for mine sites, general ledger stewardship, and business intelligence system utilisation to prepare insightful reporting and understand business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete all management accounting and financial reporting, including monthly mine site reporting and ad-hoc reporting
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support audit requirements for multiple mines during hard close, half and full year audit processes, and joint venture accounting and reporting
  • Ensure correct allocation of expenses through general ledger stewardship for company codes
  • Develop expertise in enterprise resource planning (ERP) and business intelligence (BI) software
  • Participate in testing of system updates

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce / Accounting / Business or related field
  • CPA or CA membership
  • 3+ years management accounting experience and mine accounting experience (preferable)
  • Systems experience (TM1 Planning Analytics, Pulse are desirable)
