Deputy Job Summary

A Deputy is a vital role in our Underground Coal Mining operations. The successful candidate will lead and manage teams to ensure the safe execution of mine tasks and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all crews follow Health, Safety, Environmental, and Compliance (HSEC) policies and procedures.
  • Achieve and drive agreed production targets while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
  • Deliver maintenance schedules in accordance with statutory and site regulations.
  • Perform statutory and compliance inspections in line with legislation.
  • Minimise wastage and cost-saving initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Facilitate crew/shift communications sessions to promote open dialogue and collaboration.
Essential Criteria:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Underground Coal Mining.
  • NSW 3rd Class (Deputies) Certificate of Competency.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Experience promoting a positive safety culture within the mine.
  • Sound planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet production targets.
