Ecologist Leader

Umwelt is a leading environmental consultancy with a strong presence in Australia. We offer a unique opportunity for a Principal or Senior Ecologist to join our team in Canberra.

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Principal or Senior Ecologist to lead our ecological initiatives. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise, leadership, and guidance to our team, driving successful outcomes and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

• Lead ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and impact analyses
• Provide expert advice to clients and stakeholders
• Develop and implement growth strategies for the ecology workstream in ACT
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver sustainable solutions

• Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Principal Ecologist and 5+ years as a Senior Ecologist
• Degree qualified in ecology, environmental science, zoology, botany, or a related discipline
• BAM accredited assessor or extensive experience in BAM and/or other biometric data capture and analysis
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and environmental policies
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
