The National Disability Insurance Agency has partnered with Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service to establish Early Childhood Approach services for communities in the Torres Strait and Northern Peninsula Area.
About the Role- Deliver family-centred, culturally responsive services as part of a supportive team.
- Support children aged 0–9 with developmental delay or disability to reach their full potential.
- Travel to and work in the Torres Strait Islands and Northern Peninsula Area, including remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Collaborate with families, educators, and community partners to provide assessment, early intervention, and capacity building.
- Assess and support children with developmental delay or disability.
- Develop and implement individualised plans for children's education and care.
- Collaborate with local health and education staff to provide culturally safe and family-centred practice.
- Participate in regular professional development opportunities to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge.
- Experience or interest in early childhood development and disability.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to travel regularly to remote areas.
