Policy Reform Specialist

This position involves leading projects to improve Traditional Owner access to water, identifying and addressing barriers in policy, legislation, and operations.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects to improve Traditional Owner access to water.
  • Identify and address barriers in policy, legislation, and operations.
  • Engage with stakeholders across government, industry, and communities.
  • Apply knowledge of water entitlements to drive reform.
  • Promote cultural safety and respectful engagement with Aboriginal communities.
Specialist/Technical Expertise & Qualifications:
  • A strong understanding of water resource management and Victoria's water entitlements and allocation framework is required.
  • Demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge of Aboriginal culture and contemporary issues affecting Aboriginal Victorians today to deliver culturally informed government policies and services is strongly preferred.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Strong policy development and analysis skills.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders and build partnerships.
  • Knowledge of water entitlements and allocation frameworks.
About the Role:

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 2 years at 0.6 FTE. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
