Job Description

This newly created position offers the opportunity to shape the way finance policies and accounting standards are applied across NSW. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert advice to diverse stakeholders, support and lead the development of accounting policies and guidance, and ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include preparing high-quality technical papers, guiding senior leaders through complex decisions, and building policy settings that strengthen financial governance across government. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting policies and frameworks, as well as supporting the implementation of accounting standard changes.

Requirements
  • Advanced technical accounting expertise with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience shaping finance policy or governance frameworks
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and critical thinking skills
  • A track record of driving improvements in financial reporting processes and systems
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, commerce, or similar
