Job Description

As an Environmental Health Officer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining public, environmental health, and environmental-related services, programs, and projects in accordance with statutory obligations, business plans, operational procedures, and council policies.

You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that meet the needs of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to written and verbal customer enquiries.
  • Conduct inspections and maintain accurate records.
  • Collect evidence, make reports, and attend court as required.
  • Undertake monitoring and sampling in accordance with Business Unit programs.
  • Prepare reports and provide advice to outside agencies.
  • Assist with training for students and technical officers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Health acceptable to the Chief Health Officer is essential.
  • Authorised person and inspector under the Environmental Protection Act for noise and unauthorised discharge.
  • High level of knowledge and understanding of Environmental Health principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate at high levels.
  • Advanced skills using MS Office Suite.
  • 'C' Class Drivers Licence.
Benefits

This permanent full-time position offers a salary from $96,731 - $101,823.62 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.

  • A copy of Australian driving licence.
  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months).
