
Public Health Specialist

As an Environmental Health Officer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining public, environmental health, and environmental-related services, programs, and projects in accordance with statutory obligations, business plans, operational procedures, and council policies.
You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that meet the needs of our community.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to written and verbal customer enquiries.
- Conduct inspections and maintain accurate records.
- Collect evidence, make reports, and attend court as required.
- Undertake monitoring and sampling in accordance with Business Unit programs.
- Prepare reports and provide advice to outside agencies.
- Assist with training for students and technical officers.
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Health acceptable to the Chief Health Officer is essential.
- Authorised person and inspector under the Environmental Protection Act for noise and unauthorised discharge.
- High level of knowledge and understanding of Environmental Health principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate at high levels.
- Advanced skills using MS Office Suite.
- 'C' Class Drivers Licence.
This permanent full-time position offers a salary from $96,731 - $101,823.62 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.

Eligibility- A copy of Australian driving licence.
- National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months).
