We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. This is a fixed-term, full-time appointment that will provide an opportunity for you to make a meaningful contribution to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal communities.

The successful candidate will support the Public Health Manager, lead the disease control team, and guide strategies to protect and improve the health of the Kimberley population. You will provide public health and clinical medical expertise in the identification and management of communicable and non-communicable diseases, and other emerging public health issues.

This role operates in a multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural environment with a strong focus on Indigenous health and remote service delivery. Responsibilities include coordinating outbreak investigations and interventions, and collaborating with Aboriginal health staff and community-controlled health organisations to design programs aligned with local priorities.

Eligibility – Ideal Candidates Must Demonstrate

  • Unconditional general and specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia,
  • Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (FAFPHM), or recognised equivalent,
  • Willingness to apply for a Medicare Provider Number,
  • C Class driver's licence and willingness to travel including overnight stays away from home,
  • Adaptable, culturally respectful, and committed to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal communities
