We are seeking a skilled Polywelder/Operator to join our onsite projects team at UON Pty Ltd.

Company Overview

UON is a Western Australian integrated energy company providing turnkey energy and water solutions to the mining sector and beyond.

Job Responsibilities
  • To perform poly welding operations, including butt and electro fusion welding experience in operator roles in relevant mine/construction sites.
  • To operate various Polywelding equipment and procedures specifically (McElroy -T618, T500, T900 and Dixon welder).
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years post qualified experience as a Polywelder.
  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience working as Polywelder in all aspects of butt and electro fusion welding experience in operator roles in relevant mine/construction sites.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience using a variety of Polywelding equipment and procedures specifically.
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience operating on site.
  • The ability to complete hydrotesting operations of HDPE.
  • Self-efficient in welding operations with the ability to coordinate a small poly crew.
  • Self-efficient in general earth works and can coordinate the team involved in the task at hand.
  • Needs to be competent in interpreting HDPE and Civil construction drawings.
Essential Tickets:
  • A valid certificate in Polywelding (Butt Weld & Electrofusion or Extrusion welding) from an accredited institution within 2 years of conclusion date.
  • Experience with both Dixon and McElroy.
  • Valid Operating Tickets – Excavator and Loader.
  • Chainsaw Ticket.
  • Dogging Ticket.
  • IT Loader.
  • Excavator.
  • C2 / C6 Crane Ticket.
  • HR Drives Licence.
  • Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) Training.
  • Cardiopulmonary Perform Resuscitation (CPR) Training.
  • Senior First Aid Training.
  • Current High Risk Work Licence -Basic Rigging (RB), or Elevating Work Platforms (EWP).
  • Chain of Responsibility – Drivers Training.
  • Current and valid Telehandler Tickets.
