Job Title: Head of Settlements AU NZ

Citi is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Settlements team in Australia and New Zealand. As Head of Settlements AU NZ, you will be responsible for the overall management of our settlement operations, ensuring that transactions are processed efficiently and accurately within our service standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily settlement volumes and ensure that our teams are operating as one, with a shared vision and values.
  • Track and analyze MIS statistics to identify trends and volumes, and make data-driven decisions to improve our operations.
  • Develop and implement capacity planning strategies to meet local and regional business requirements.
  • Coach, train, and motivate staff to progress their careers and achieve their full potential.
  • Manage technology projects in conjunction with technology and product managers to drive business growth and efficiency.
  • Assist in the development of client RFPs and participate in presentations as required.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements imposed by stock exchanges and supervisory bodies.
  • Monitor failed trades to identify potential issues and mitigate risk.
  • Support proactive communication strategies to enhance cross-functional collaboration.
  • Work closely with other unit heads to ensure a unified operational mindset.
  • Perform regular staff appraisals and provide ongoing feedback to ensure performance excellence.
  • Develop and maintain procedures, controls, and compliance within the securities processing team.
  • Participate in custody audits, including internal, KPMG, and other external audits.
  • Develop and maintain daily working relationships with ASX, SFE, NZX, and RBNZ.
  • Work closely with market regulators and industry groups to stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.
  • Identify functionality gaps within existing systems and develop requirement documents with cost-benefit analysis.
  • Set and achieve departmental goals and objectives in collaboration with the Operations committee.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Studies, or equivalent.
  • 10 years' experience in the financial services industry, with a strong background in custody and issuer services.
  • Strong understanding of custody and issuer services products and business flows.
  • Ability to solve complex issues and apply risk management responses.
  • Ability to identify and address control risks.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant tools.
