Job Opportunity

We are seeking experienced professionals to join our team as Biosecurity Officers in Newcastle, Sydney and Port Kembla. As a Biosecurity Officer, you will be responsible for conducting complex assessments and inspections of arriving international vessels to ensure compliance with Australia's biosecurity requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Carrying out thorough biosecurity inspections and surveillance within the maritime working environment
  • Providing timely and accurate advice on complex biosecurity matters to internal and external stakeholders
  • Fostering supportive, collaborative and effective working relationships
  • Demonstrating adherence to the APS Values, Employment Principles and Code of Conduct
Key Qualifications
  • Prior experience in both the maritime and/or cargo pathway is highly desirable
  • Experience working with a range of stakeholders
  • Holding a valid Australian motor vehicle drivers licence
  • Meeting the minimum requirements to be appointed as a Biosecurity Officer under the Biosecurity Act 2015
