Estimator Position

This role involves working on challenging civil construction projects, contributing to their successful delivery. The candidate will work closely with the project team and other stakeholders to achieve the project's objectives.

The estimator will be responsible for tender preparation, negotiation, and evaluation, ensuring that costs are optimized and risks are mitigated. They must have a strong commercial acumen and effective problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working on tenders
  • Coordinating internal and external resources
  • Preparation and submission of tenders
  • Evaluation of tender and estimating process for cost effectiveness
  • Tender negotiations
  • Coordination of tender handover to project team
  • Preparation of budgets based on tender submission
  • Assessment and pricing of contract variation orders
  • Liaison with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
Project Types and Values:

The types of projects include demolition, excavation, retention, piling, foundations, ground improvement, soft and hard landscaping, site remediation, and rehabilitation. Project values range from $2.5 million to $25 million but can go up to $50 million.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field
  • Have 5-10+ years' management experience on civil construction projects with a project value of $5 million to $20 million+
  • Demonstrate a proven understanding of construction with a hands-on approach
  • Display effective problem-solving abilities
  • Exhibit high-level commercial acumen
  • Possess high organization and time management skills
  • Excel in verbal and written communication skills
