Airworthiness and Hazard Mitigation Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned professional to spearhead system safety initiatives for the UH-60M Black Hawk program in Enoggera, QLD.

This is a full-time permanent position that offers an estimated annual salary of $120,000 - $160,000 AUD. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of aircraft systems by identifying and mitigating hazards through effective application of system safety principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive system safety plans aligned with Department of Defense standards (MIL-STD-882E).
  • Conduct hazard identification, analysis, and risk assessments to inform design and operational decisions.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and effective communication of safety-related risks and controls.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of safety incidents and near-misses, contributing to continuous improvement and learning within the organization.
About You:
  • Prior experience in coordinating safety programs under the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) framework, particularly Part 21.
  • Detailed knowledge of aircraft systems and sub-systems, as well as relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse stakeholder needs.
  • A strong working knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) obligations and procedures.
