About Our Team
We are seeking an Environmental Coordinator to join our team in Port Lincoln. This is a unique opportunity for someone to contribute to the success of a large-scale project and gain valuable experience in environmental management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring day-to-day compliance with environmental specifications, legislation, approvals, and other relevant environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of environmental management measures as defined by project plans, contractual, and legislative requirements
- Participate in project planning and risk assessment activities to identify and control environmental risks and opportunities
- Assist with identification and implementation of sustainability initiatives
- Supports the planning, inspection, and monitoring of construction activities linked to environmental constraints/risks such as erosion & sediment control, vegetation clearing, night works, heritage protection, and contamination management
- Conduct regular environmental inspections and monitoring requirements as defined in project environmental management plans (i.e., noise, vibration, water, and air quality, biodiversity)
- Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance against environment and sustainability requirements
Requirements
- Ideal tertiary qualified in Environmental Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in inspection and monitoring of construction activities linked to environmental constraints/risks
- Experience in marine ecology would be highly beneficial
- Fluent in Microsoft Office suite of desktop applications and related software packages, with proficiency in Excel a must
