About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Fostering Support Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people in foster care, providing them with the additional support they need to thrive, remain safe, secure, and nurtured.

As a Fostering Support Specialist, you will work directly with young people in foster care, whether placed with General Carers or Kin Carers. Your role will be to provide emotional support, guidance, and advocacy to help them navigate the challenges of foster care and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to young people in foster care
  • Work closely with carers to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to meet the unique needs of each young person
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting young people
  • Provide advocacy and support to help young people access resources and services they need
Requirements
  • Certificate IV in a relevant child welfare course or enrolled and working towards completion
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge working in residential care; and/or working with young people in a child protection or community service context
  • Solid experience working with young people who have significant emotional and psychological support needs
  • Driver's Licence
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a National Police Check, Blue Card (Working with Children) and a Licensed Care Services (LCS)
