Electrical Technician Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our team at Yancoal Australia. As an Electrical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of all electrical plant and equipment on site
  • Conduct effective preventative and scheduled maintenance and fault-finding work on electrical systems
  • Monitor equipment to ensure it remains fit for purpose, functional, and in a safe condition

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years Underground Coal Mining experience in a similar role (essential)
  • Electrical Trade Qualification and Certificate of Proficiency (mandatory)
  • Qualifications in Maintenance of Electrical Equipment for Hazardous Areas (highly desirable)
  • Experience maintaining Underground Mining Equipment including Conveyor Systems, Joy Development Equipment, CT/DBT Longwall Equipment, and Explosive Protected Diesel Plant
  • A Strong commitment to safety with strong communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A positive attitude towards contributing to continuous improvement initiatives on site
  • Knowledge of Coal Mining WHS legislation requirements
