The Opportunity

To support operational requirements during growth, we're looking for a highly motivated Maintenance Fitter. This role is crucial for ensuring continuous improvement, safety, and effective monitoring of production equipment to guarantee optimal plant performance.

The role will typically work afternoon shifts of 2:00pm - 10pm at our Truganina site, with ability to work weekends and am shift on an as-needed basis or across our Richmond site.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure production efficiency and downtime is minimised;">
  • Project work including new equipment installations and commissioning;">
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on all plant and equipment within the factory;">
  • The delivery of reliable, efficient, safe, strategic and routine preventative maintenance activities;">
  • Carrying out repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment to ensure production schedules and goals are achieved;">
  • Responding to breakdown situations to repair all plant equipment as requested by the relevant Manager/Supervisor;">
  • Recording use and stock of critical machine and process parts;">
  • Assist in maintaining registers, logs and systems to track repairs, notifications and work activities;">
  • Liaise with supervisors and machine operators about performance of equipment.">

Requirements:

">

- Trade certification in mechanical fitting or related trade or be currently undertaking an apprenticeship;

- Experience in Food Manufacturing Industry within a maintenance/production environment;

- Strong understanding of safety and environmental practices with a commitment to best practice;

- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills;

- Sound decision-making, prioritisation and time management skills;

- Able to work under own initiative and as part of a team;

- Flexibility and a can-do attitude;

- Display an ability to contribute to continuous improvement within the Food Manufacturing sector establishing best in class;

- Exceptional problem-solving skills at pace, organisational and planning skills, backed by excellent technical mechanical and electrical understanding;

- Ability to troubleshoot problems and complete basic site maintenance repair and servicing;

- Sound understanding of OHS, SQF & GMP Policies.
