The National Training Unit is a specialist team of skilled practitioners in the field of training with extensive electoral experience. The Unit's primary objective is to deliver high-quality training and development that professionalises the workforce and builds knowledge of electoral processes.

The Team operates as an agile pool, where staff take responsibility for diverse projects and programs and report through to different supervisors depending on the assignment of work. Unit members are expected to undertake periodic travel.

This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of matters across all aspects of training and development in the National Training Unit.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you'll have:

  • Knowledge and experience in designing, developing, and implementing training and development products and programs across a geographically dispersed workforce.
  • Proven ability and experience in evaluating training and development products and programs across an organisation.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing and conducting needs analyses to determine training and development requirements.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in successfully managing and delivering results within time restraints and with competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to communicate with influence, negotiate strategic outcomes, and manage strategic stakeholder relationships, including across a geographically dispersed network.
  • Proven strategic conceptual and analytical abilities with sound knowledge of change management practices and techniques to enable innovation particularly within the training and development space.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff while developing capabilities, encouraging career development, and embedding professionalism.
  • Demonstrated personal drive and integrity whilst achieving results within legislative parameters.
