Job Title:

A Breastfeeding Specialist will be responsible for protecting, promoting and supporting breastfeeding by educating women, families, health professionals and the community about lactation and artificially feeding newborns, infants and children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialised lactation services to women and their families across the health continuum.
  • Develop and implement lactation education programs for healthcare professionals and the community.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to mothers and babies.
Requirements:
  • Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences as a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Registered Midwife (RM).
  • Current International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
  • A post graduate qualification or currently enrolled in a post graduate program in a relevant area of study is highly desirable.
