About the Role

The Department of Transport and Planning is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Building Governance team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and implementation of policies and reforms that improve building outcomes for consumers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or contribute to research, analysis, and review of complex policy and reform issues, with a focus on improved outcomes for domestic building consumers.
  • Work with government agencies and departments to build a comprehensive understanding of the practicalities for domestic building consumers in Victoria.
  • Contribute to stakeholder engagement and coordination with internal and external groups.
  • Prepare high-quality submissions, reports, briefs, and discussion papers on complex and sensitive matters.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders to support government and business unit priorities.
Requirements
  • Project delivery experience, with the ability to define tasks, coordinate, and guide others in the execution of work activities.
  • Data literacy skills, including the ability to consider data sources, collection, and structure impacts in the delivery of data analysis.
  • Knowledge management and business continuity skills, including the ability to implement and support others in applying knowledge management and business continuity practices.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to resolve issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in project management or a related field.
  • Highly developed written communication, computer literacy, and data analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and developing and delivering policy frameworks in a reform context.
  • Experience in advising and negotiating with stakeholders on complex issues.
