About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Capital Project Manager to lead capital engineering projects within our Manufacturing sites. Reporting to the Manufacturing Capital Manager - Northern, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing projects to ensure they meet scope, timeline, and budget requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Delivery: Deliver capital projects safely, in full, on time, and on budget.
  2. Project Scoping: Develop project scopes from initiation concepts with the capital team and key stakeholders.
  3. Project Budgeting: Develop project budgets to include capital cost estimates, once-off operating cost estimates, and asset write-off costs.
  4. Project Planning: Plan project tasks, resources, and interdependencies using Gantt charts to deliver successful project outcomes.
  5. Risk Management: Manage all project delivery risks, cash-flow forecasting, and key stakeholder communication.
  6. Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with the relevant Australian Standards, local codes, by-laws, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  7. Project Tendering: Complete project tendering, developing technical documentation, design specifications, drawings, and commercial contracts.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives with engineering systems, project management procedures, and engineering standards.
  9. Project Safety: Provide project safety leadership to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.

About You

You have a strong track record managing multiple engineering projects and ambition to advance into a senior role. You're a clear communicator who can influence stakeholders and adapt to changing project demands. Additionally, you possess the following:

  1. Experience: Ideally, 3+ years of experience in a similar role, within the FMCG, Food Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, or similar industries.
  2. Project Management: Experience managing capital investment projects and new product developments is beneficial.
  3. Skills: Strong project risk management and budget management skills, strong technical understanding, well-developed analytical and technical writing skills, understanding of continuous improvement and lean methodologies, and experience with MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
  4. Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in process, mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering would be ideal.
