About the Role
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the management and coordination of Seqwater's multi-billion dollar capital program. As a Principal Capital Portfolio Planning Specialist, you will oversee the development and prioritization of the annual investment plan and engage with key internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize a portfolio of projects that align with business objectives, ensuring a robust five-year capital program (updated annually) that balances timing, expenditure, and risk and includes benefits identification and realization.
- Monitor the execution of the annual capital program by supporting forecasting, managing changes, analyzing expenditure effectiveness, and providing expert advice on the priority of investments and improvements.
- Develop and manage a risk-based prioritization model at both Group and portfolio level.
- Support the development of the regulator (QCA) audit documentation and lead the preparation of asset management and project information.
- Provide advice and prepare responses to queries from external Government departments and external parties on Seqwater's capital investment plans.
- Develop policies and procedures to enhance the development, management, and continuous improvement of Seqwater's 20-year capital program.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Experience in complex and multi-disciplined environments with demonstrated knowledge of portfolio management practices, processes, and governance.
- Tertiary qualifications and professional experience in planning, economics, or a discipline related to management, project management, or financial accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive experience in program budget development and management, including the development and application of investment prioritization processes based on benefits and risks.
- Experience in financial investment modeling, reporting, and analysis (desirable).
- Experience in regulation of utility businesses as they apply on South East Queensland (desirable).
- Alignment with Seqwater values.
This position will be offered as an individual TFR package with an attractive salary and is a permanent, full-time role.
