Midwifery Career Advancement Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Midwife to join our Graduate Program at the Royal Hobart Hospital. This 12-month transition-to-practice program offers an excellent opportunity to consolidate your knowledge in midwifery practice and develop expertise across various areas.

About the Role

As a Registered Midwife in this program, you will work collaboratively with members of the healthcare team to plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality women's and family care. You will adhere to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia codes and guidelines for registered midwives, ensuring exceptional standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain effective relationships with women, their families, and other healthcare professionals through open communication and a supportive approach.
  2. Contribute to a multidisciplinary team environment by sharing knowledge, experiences, and best practices in midwifery care.
  3. Identify and meet the educational needs of women and their families/significant others, developing and implementing teaching plans that facilitate informed decision-making.
Requirements
  • A current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated expertise in midwifery practice, with a strong focus on woman-centered care and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with women, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
