
Strategic Midwifery Project Coordinator

The Department of Health Tasmania is seeking a skilled and experienced Midwife to fill the role of Project/Research Midwife. This position will be based in Hobart, Tasmania and will involve working closely with the Office of the Chief Nurse and Midwifery Officer (OCNMO) to develop and implement strategic midwifery initiatives.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of professional midwifery practice and be able to apply rigorous project management methodology to manage a broad range of projects to meet agreed time, cost and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate activities that support strategic midwifery initiatives in Tasmania.
- Utilise highly developed understanding of professional midwifery practice to manage projects that contribute to the strategic objectives of the Department of Health.
- Establish and maintain consultative and collaborative links within the Department of Health, with community and industry representatives, and with other external stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.
- Engage with and represent the interests of Tasmania in professional networks locally, nationally and internationally.
The successful candidate will need to have:
- A current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in midwifery or a related field.
- A proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- High level analytical, conceptual, strategic, research and creative skills.
