About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join BHP's team as a Terminal Maintenance Electrical Tradesperson at our BMA Hay Point Coal Terminal site. As part of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine online, offline and shutdown maintenance tasks on fixed plant and Port Infrastructure.

You will work closely with the Supervisor Port Maintenance Execution to ensure the safe delivery of department objectives. Your role will involve providing planning and technical input, completing allocated planned maintenance tasks, and undertaking unplanned or breakdown maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with and consistently follow safety standards and procedures to work safely and effectively every day
  • Complete allocated planned maintenance tasks on time and to a high standard
  • Undertake unplanned or breakdown maintenance tasks, including problem-solving, fault finding, and diagnosis
  • Provide feedback to the maintenance supervisor on job progress and contribute to improvement projects
  • Work collaboratively with your team to achieve high levels of accountability and build proactive relationships across all site teams

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require a relevant trade qualification in electrical work and proven maintenance experience in fixed plant maintenance. You must have a strong focus on safety, drive, and passion to improve, as well as excellent people and communication skills. Previous experience with SAP and knowledge of hazardous area training and electrical fixed plant or processing equipment are highly desirable.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current QLD Electrical Workers license
  • Current Electrical Switchboard and Resuscitation certificate
  • Current Driver's license
  • Ability to fault-find and interpret electrical schematic drawings
  • Construction Industry Induction training (White card)
