Job Overview

As a Virtual Health Clinician, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with their health concerns through the Healthdirect Helpline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and empathetic guidance to callers who are unsure if they should seek medical attention or manage their condition at home.

  • Conduct comprehensive telephone assessments to identify potential health risks and develop appropriate care plans.

  • Collaborate with external services to refer callers to relevant resources, such as the GP Helpline, Urgent Care Clinics, and Virtual Emergency Departments.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • A minimum of 3 years of full-time clinical experience within the last 5 years as a Registered Nurse.

  • Experience working in complex primary health, acute medical, or emergency department settings is highly desirable.

Preferred Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate with compassion and professionalism.

  • High affinity for using computer systems, including telehealth platforms, databases, and digital communication tools.
