Urban Planning Professional

We are seeking an experienced Urban Planner to join our Wollongong Planning team on a permanent basis. As an Urban Planner, you will provide technical planning expertise and contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams. You will have the opportunity to work independently as an urban planner on your own projects, preparing and managing site suitability reports, development applications, and Rezoning Amendments on behalf of clients.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Planning Expertise: Provide technical planning expertise and contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Project Management: Work independently as an urban planner on your own projects, preparing and managing site suitability reports, development applications, and Rezoning Amendments on behalf of clients.
- Mentoring and Guidance: Provide mentoring and informal guidance to junior level staff, assist in assigning tasks, providing coaching, and reviewing reports.
- Business Development: Prepare fee proposals and quotes for clients.
- Project Delivery: Ensure projects are delivered to budget and scope, and deliver excellence to internal and external clients and their communities.
- Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Design, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Urban Planning Research: Proficient in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
- NSW Planning System: Comprehensive knowledge of the NSW Planning system and legislation.
- Experience: Experience in statutory and/or strategic planning, relevant knowledge of Australian standards and legislation.
- Self-Motivation: Self-motivated and self-directed, with a strong interest in working on a broad variety of projects.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers, and clients.
