Senior Academic Specialist in Nutrition Education

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated academic with expertise in nutrition science to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate programs at a leading institution.
The successful candidate will lead unit teaching teams and deliver high-quality learning experiences that incorporate industry and research practice into student learning. They will also adopt innovation in curriculum design and maintain deep nutrition science discipline knowledge to inform unit design.
- Assist in applying nutrition industry and research practice into student learning experiences, success, engagement and resources.
- Adept innovative curriculum design at the unit level and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels and modes of delivery.
- Maintain deep nutrition science discipline knowledge which is applied to inform unit design.
- Support, and may lead, applications for nutrition science research and creative activities, including applications for external competitive funding, external funding for commercialization and translation activities and other funding demonstrating sustained efforts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Teaching and leading unit teams
- Delivering high-quality learning experiences
- Adopting innovative curriculum design
- Applying industry and research practice into student learning
Requirements:
- PhD in nutrition science (or related discipline) and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
- Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in undergraduate and/or postgraduate nutrition science programs, including innovative curriculum design
- Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning
- Emerging reputation in nutrition science research and scholarship through publications and/or exhibitions and/or success in obtaining external research funding
- Ability to contribute to communities through nutrition science research
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues as well as key external partners and community members
