About the Role

The Surgical Clinical Lead is responsible for managing a team of pharmacists to ensure optimal clinical pharmacy service provision in medical specialty areas. This includes General Surgery, Acute Surgical, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Pre-Admission Assessment Services, and Vascular Surgery.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Senior Pharmacist promotes safe, rational, and cost-effective drug therapy by providing and coordinating clinical pharmacy services. These include monitoring patient medication profiles, providing drug information, and undertaking teaching and research.

The role requires practicing as a Senior Pharmacist and ensuring practice aligns with the Pharmacy Board of Australia Registration Standards, Pharmacy Board of Australia Codes and Guidelines, and EMHS policies and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of pharmacists to provide optimal clinical pharmacy service.
  • Provide and coordinate clinical pharmacy services including monitoring patient medication profiles, providing drug information, and undertaking teaching and research.
  • Practice as a Senior Pharmacist and ensure practice aligns with relevant standards and guidelines.
