Job Overview

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the Business Services team, coordinating business and administrative functions, including business planning, finance, budget, procurement, information management, communications, human resource management, and general administration.
  • Provide expert advice on issues relating to business management, focusing on cost effectiveness and compliance with relevant statutory and departmental requirements.
  • Develop and implement policies, practices, and technologies to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Resolve complex problems, negotiate outcomes, and ensure solutions align with the strategic direction of the Department.
  • Provide planning, policy, and operational advice to senior executives on business management and administration matters.
  • Govern and report on operational and development activities, ensuring timely delivery and structured planning.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external service providers to support coronial services across the State.
  • Represent the Department as required in discussions and negotiations with stakeholders, preparing submissions, briefs, and responses related to business and operational issues.
  • Supervise and manage a small team of business support personnel, supporting career and capability development opportunities for staff.
Key Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to lead and motivate a team. Strong problem-solving skills and experience in business management are essential for success in this role.
