This role is part of a multidisciplinary team within Queensland Health, aiming to provide culturally appropriate services that contribute to the improved health and wellbeing of First Nations people.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to oversee and develop the Indigenous Hospital Liaison Service across Queensland Health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic oversight and development of the Indigenous Hospital Liaison Service
- Support service transitions on behalf of and in consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- Offer information and resources to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients to navigate the healthcare system effectively
Requirements:
- Combine lived experience of First Nations family structures, culture, practices, and protocols with advanced management skills and mental health knowledge
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage cultural services by utilizing cultural expertise, community connections, and leadership skills
- Effectively work with First Nations people within a health-related context, demonstrating a clear understanding of First Nations culture and protocols
