
First Nations Community Health Advocate

The objective of this role is to enhance mental health outcomes for First Nations peoples accessing the service, in accordance with the West Moreton Health First Nations Health Equity Strategy. You will facilitate First Nations peoples' participation across mental health services, fostering effective partnerships within the service and external stakeholders.
About the Position- High level interpersonal, communication, consultation and negotiation skills to develop partnerships within the service and external stakeholders.
- Cultural understanding and lived experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, enabling provision of effective cultural support.
- Ability to support multidisciplinary teams in improving their understanding of the social, emotional and wellbeing needs of First Nations consumers.
- Appropriate clinical skills for delivering evidence-based health assessments, health promotion, education and illness prevention activities.
- Indigenous status within the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community.
- Vaccination against certain vaccine preventable diseases.
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care, Mental Health or Alcohol and Other Drugs.
- 17.5% annual leave loading.
