Job Opportunity: First Nations Mental Health Worker
The position of First Nations Mental Health Worker plays a vital role in providing high-level cultural advice and professional support to First Nations peoples accessing mental health services. This includes their family, carers, and social/cultural support networks.
The aim is to improve mental health outcomes for First Nations peoples, aligning with the West Moreton Health First Nations Health Equity Strategy 2022 - 2025.
About You
- You should possess high level interpersonal, communication, consultation and negotiation skills.
- Cultural lived experience and understanding of cultural factors affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's health and wellbeing are essential.
- Ability to provide effective cultural support and education to multidisciplinary teams is crucial.
- Appropriate clinical skills for delivering evidence-based health assessments and primary healthcare services are required.
Mandatory Requirements
- Vaccination against certain vaccine-preventable diseases is mandatory.
- Indigenous status within the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community is necessary.
