Team Lead, Agriculture Climate Adaptation

Job Description: As a key member of the Australian Bureau of Meteorology's Agriculture Section, the Team Lead, Agriculture Climate Adaptation plays a pivotal role in assisting Australian farmers adapt to climate change impacts. This involves collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement effective climate adaptation strategies under the direction of the Agriculture Section Manager.

Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will lead projects and activities aimed at enhancing awareness, knowledge, and skills among farmers and producers to improve their ability to adapt to a changing climate. This may involve collaborating with other teams within the Bureau, as well as external partners and stakeholders.

  • Exacerbate current risks and create new ones due to climate change
  • Make decisions regarding infrastructure development and land suitability for certain crops or livestock
  • Address farm business succession and adaptation of farming systems

Collaborative Approach: To achieve these goals, the Team Lead, Agriculture Climate Adaptation will work closely with farmers, producers, and other stakeholders to develop tailored solutions addressing unique regional needs. The role requires strong leadership and collaboration skills, as well as effective communication of complex information to diverse audiences.
