About the Role

  • Develop and manage various programs and events that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents, ensuring they have opportunities for personal growth and development.
  • Foster a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel valued, respected, and cared for, promoting a sense of belonging and community.

Responsibilities

  • Individualized Programs: Develop lifestyle programs based on individual needs, preferences, and goals to enhance physical, intellectual, emotional, cultural, and social well-being, tailoring activities to meet the unique needs of each resident.
  • Active Participation: Lead and participate in the delivery of activities, ensuring they are engaging and meaningful, and encouraging resident participation and engagement.
  • Comprehensive Assessments: Prepare thorough and accurate lifestyle assessments of residents, identifying areas of strength and need, and developing strategies to support their well-being.
  • Detailed Documentation: Ensure complete and timely documentation of resident participation and engagement, tracking progress and outcomes.
  • Team Management: Manage and coach the lifestyle team to deliver top-notch lifestyle activities, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Training and Orientation: Support the orientation and training of new team members and volunteers, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care.
  • Positive Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, and volunteers, building trust and confidence.
  • Community Engagement: Facilitate opportunities for residents to engage with the broader community, promoting social inclusion and connections.

About You

  • Demonstrated understanding of leisure and lifestyle programming and Aged Care Quality Standards, with experience in implementing best practices and standards.
  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Health, or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in a Lifestyle Assistant/Coordinator position (or similar), including dementia care, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality care and services.
  • Experience using a computerized care management system (desirable) and outstanding computer literacy skills, with ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues.
