As an Operational Desk Assistant, you'll be responsible for assisting traders with administrative tasks and projects related to the daily trading function. You'll act as a liaison between desk traders and other dealers, traders, or brokers, executing orders and maintaining trade positions, profit, and loss reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile and reconcile trade, transaction, and positions data.
  • Prepare and submit delivery instructions for proprietary trading.
  • Assist with maintaining position, P&L, and information exchange.
  • Maintain and manage operational processes to ensure exchange compliance.
  • Use algorithmic trading tools under instruction from traders.
  • Update and manage exchange trading systems, proprietary trading applications, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Act as a liaison between desk traders and other departments.
  • Run desk projects and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Demonstratable experience in the financial markets arena and completion of finance/investment-related coursework.
  • In-depth knowledge of options, equity, and equity derivatives.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg and Excel.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to promote new ideas and solutions.
  • Confidence to escalate issues and drive changes.
  • Works well with an established team and builds strong relationships.
  • Maintains strong organizational skills and meticulous record-keeping.
  • Ability to prioritize based on materiality and risk considerations.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
  • Analytical mindset when tackling issues.
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter, quick learner, and resourceful problem-solver.
  • Reliable and flexible team player with a positive demeanor.
