Job Summary

We are seeking an Operational Desk Analyst to support the day-to-day running of our trading desks. This role will involve position reconciliations, ensuring trades are captured efficiently and timely, and positions are accurate and reconciled to external brokers. The successful candidate will also provide profit and loss estimates for the day's activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and reconcile trade, transaction, and position data.
  • Prepare and submit creation and redemption instructions for proprietary trading.
  • Assist with maintaining position, P&L, and information exchange.
  • Maintain and manage operational processes to ensure exchange compliance.
  • Use algorithmic trading tools under instruction from traders.
  • Update and manage exchange trading systems, proprietary trading applications, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Act as a liaison between desk traders and other dealers, traders, or brokers and internal departments.
  • Support desk projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience working in the financial markets arena.
  • Operational knowledge of Asian financial markets.
  • In-depth knowledge of ETF life cycle, handling trade flow through to settlement.
  • Thorough knowledge of equity and specifically ETF products.
  • Working knowledge of corporate action, including booking and P&L impact.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg and Excel.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and broker contacts.
  • Ability to promote new ideas and solutions.
  • Confidence to escalate issues and drive changes.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous record-keeping.
  • Ability to prioritize based on materiality and risk considerations.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
  • Analytical mindset when tackling issues.
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter, quick learner, and resourceful problem-solver.
  • Reliable and flexible team player with a positive demeanor.
  • Working knowledge of VBA, Python, or SQL is a plus.
