Technical Report Writer Position

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a trade-qualified fitter or mechanic looking to transition into a corporate office-based position as a Technical Report Writer.

The primary focus of this role is to compile detailed technical reports relating to re-manufactured components for both internal and external customers.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into component failures with support from the product support team
  • Create technical reports for warranty claims in accordance with industry standards
  • Develop and maintain report templates that adhere to industry best practices
  • Analyze component failure mode data, identify trends, and implement improvements
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of Hitachi's re-manufactured products and customer expectations

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Rlevant mechanical trade qualifications (fitter or mechanic)
  • 5+ years' experience as a fully qualified tradesperson working in roles similar to HD fitter, Diesel Mechanic, or Fitter Machinist
  • Experience in similar technical roles with a strong technical background would be advantageous
  • Detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes within engineering and earthmoving industries would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills and intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, including MS Word and Excel
