About this Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Flood Risk Management Specialist.

As a key member of the team, you will provide critical support towards the coordination of strategic priorities, including the implementation of the Queensland Flood Risk Management Framework (QFRMF).

You will work in close partnership with stakeholders to identify statewide priority flood mitigation activities and recommend projects for investment.

Participate in working groups to develop metrics to measure progress and success in flood risk management in Queensland.

Represent your team at stakeholder meetings and events with relevant industry and community organizations, negotiate agreed outcomes, and identify opportunities to incorporate learnings into communication and education strategies, projects, and policies.

Manage flood risk projects, monitoring and evaluating outcomes against performance targets.

Lead and model highly collaborative internal relationships through the sharing of knowledge, experience, and reflections as part of a wider team of multi-disciplinary specialists.

This role leads a small team and reports directly to the Manager, Flood Risk Management.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take on temporary duties or work in alternative locations to support impacted communities.
