Clearing Risk Manager Role

The Clearing Risk Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining the policy framework that governs the risk management practices of a leading clearing house. This includes ensuring the framework meets regulatory standards and strives to meet best practices for clearing houses.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, review and approval of clearing and settlement risk policies
  • Conduct thorough research to understand current regulatory environment, industry standards and best practices relating to Clearing and Settlement risk management
  • Assess the suitability for clearing of new and existing products in line with the requirements of the Clearing Policy
Key Qualifications:
  • University degree in Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, Econometrics, Actuarial Science or Statistics
  • Several years of experience in financial risk management (market/credit/liquidity) or regulatory capital in a financial institution
Nice to Have:
  • Experience of international exchange/clearing house activities and/or familiarity with exchange/clearing house rulebooks
  • Knowledge of the Australian financial markets regulatory environment
