About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Clearing Risk Specialist to join our team, responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing the policy framework that governs the risk management practices of our clearing and settlement activities.
The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the development, maintenance, review, and approval of clearing and settlement risk policies, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and strive for best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research to understand current regulatory environments, industry standards, and best practices relating to Clearing and Settlement risk management.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance approaches to support policy initiatives (e.g., future adequacy and structure of clearing and settlement default capital and liquidity resources).
- Provide subject matter expertise and/or coordinate clearing risk policy support on clearing and settlement initiatives.
- Articulate clearing risk policy to internal and external stakeholders, including reporting to working groups, other business areas, regulators, and relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
- University educational background in one or more of: Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, Econometrics, Actual Science, Statistics.
- Several years of relevant financial risk management experience (market/credit/liquidity) or regulatory capital experience in a financial institution.
- Some experience of or exposure to risk governance in relation to financial risk management (market/credit/liquidity) in a financial institution or professional services firm.
- Some experience of regulatory engagement in relation to risk management.
