Health Safety Advisor

We are seeking an experienced Health Safety and Environment (HSE) professional to support risk management across contractor, maintenance, and project works.

The successful candidate will work closely with safety teams to ensure legislative compliance and promote a strong safety culture.

This role requires identifying and managing risks, especially those of construction, maintenance, and contractor work in a complex live working environment. The incumbent will collaborate with the Property Services Safety team and Health Safety and Wellbeing team to ensure effective health and safety management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and manage risks associated with construction, maintenance, and contractor work
  • Collaborate with safety teams to ensure legislative compliance and promote a strong safety culture
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with external stakeholders and key professionals
  • Diagnose, analyse, conceptualise, and provide creative solutions to complex projects and issues
  • Work independently, flexibly, cooperatively, and efficiently as a member of a client-focused team

Requirements:

  • Background in Construction, Facilities Management or related industry (desirable)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Legislation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practice systems for effectively managing health and safety of employees, building users, and contractors
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes, drive change, and create a strong health and safety culture
  • Ability to develop clear and concise written communications including business, investigative, and audit reports and proposals
