Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced operations manager to oversee the daily operations of our vehicle processing, storage, fleet fitment, distribution, and delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the movement of vehicles, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to meet customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and automotive industry experience. They should possess excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing vehicle receiving, processing, storage, fleet fitment, distribution, and delivery to meet customer and contractual requirements.
  • Planning and allocating labour to optimize workflows, adjust priorities, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Overseeing job card and invoice accuracy, vehicle and parts inventory, and cost compliance.
  • Resolving daily operational and employee issues while fostering a high-performance, values-driven team culture.
  • Maintaining freight carrier relationships, managing site facilities, and optimizing site utilization and lease arrangements.
  • Driving continuous improvement, ensuring ISO and safety compliance, and meeting site financial and OHS targets.
Requirements

The following qualifications and skills are essential for this role:

  • Minimum 3 years' management experience in a medium-sized P&L business, with a strong background in logistics; automotive industry experience is desirable.
  • Holds a full driver's licence; tertiary qualifications in transport, mechanical, automotive logistics, or supply chain are an advantage.
  • Proven leadership, team management, and people development skills, with strong communication, customer service focus, and ability to manage workload planning.
  • Sound mechanical knowledge, OHS experience in industrial environments, and solid computer skills for operational efficiency.
