National Indigenous Research Coordinator

Job Description:
We are seeking an Indigenous Research Coordinator to provide high-level support for a national Indigenous Science initiative. The role involves coordinating the work with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander reference group, assisting in building trusted relationships with Indigenous communities and knowledge holders, and supporting respectful science and engagement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing coordination and administrative support across all stages of the Indigenous Science initiative.
- Supporting the operation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander reference and advisory groups, including logistics, agenda setting, and record-keeping.
- Assisting in building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities, Elders, and organisations to support co-designed research.
- Contributing to the development of data practices by supporting awareness of Indigenous Data Sovereignty and assisting with the review of data governance frameworks.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need strong coordination and communication skills, as well as a passion for Indigenous-led research and knowledge systems.
